Based on the DGz translation of StrikerS 1, I have brought out a soft subbed version of StrikerS Episode 1.
This is my first time doing something like this, so please leave feedback so I can improve.
I plan on doing this with all the DVD eps as they come out, using Yesy's translation later on (or until Geneon slaps my wrist).

I already have completed Episodes 1-3 with DGz's subs. I did not release them because I thought I'd leave it to the group. If I recall they said they'd probably do the DVDs... though I could be wrong.

EDIT - My encodes are (x264-aac) 233MB... not 390MB. I donno what codecs were used in the file as I did not download it, however IE did tell me its size.

I tried to re-encode, but that severely lowered the quality. So I just left it alone despite the size. IMO, size is secondary to quality. I have a second RAW that is ~210MB, but it is just not as pretty.

Just to let everyone know, my hosting company is migrating the server hosting this site to a different datacenter. I'm in the process of updating DNS now so we'll see how smoothly this goes.

I'm not entirely sure how they're handling the synchronization of data so I'm going to try to temporarily freeze the board and disallow posting until I'm sure everything transferred properly. Sorry the short notice and interruption :)

Just an FYI the server data is being copied as we speak and I'm told it will be completed either today or tomorrow. With the length of time it's taking I'm sure some posts will be lost. i like in the new version (i think the sound stage) how make act diffrent and i heard there's a sound stage when Erio is taking a bath and caro comes in too. i dont know the details but can anyone help me find it? even if its japanese? or any other langauge!

And anyway, the video quality should be better. Even in the [l33t-raws] TV caps, there were some artefacts.

Sooooo ummm, is DGZ gonna release DVD subbed Strikers episodes or not? Or at least release some fixed .ass.

I'm having issues with the subtitles for Nanoha episode 10. They only appear occasionally and when they appear they don't appear properly. The other episodes play fine and I've downloaded episode 10 several times from different sources. I'm using ZoomPlayer with the latest CCCP filter pack.

Any fixes?

Just for clarification are you talking about episode 10 of the first season or A's? I'll take a look at how they've been muxed but it's very strange that only one episode out of either season would give you that problem.

Anyone else had the same problem with only one ep?

actually i have a similar case and its episode 10 of the 1st season. for some reason i don't see any subtitle at all and directVobSub does not detect any subtitle from that particular file. i downloaded from the batch torrent "# Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Season 1 29-OCT-06"

EP10 of Season1 DVD encodes were just fine for me, i am using CCCP+Coreavc+MPC

I have this problem for ep10 season 1 as well. Using CCCP I've tested with MPC as well as ZPlayer, neither display any subtitles at all.

Does anyone have a method to troubleshoot this?

Upon further investigation, the video track was mistakenly placed 3rd in the mkv after the audio and subtitle tracks. In a couple other eps the track order is 1) Video, 2) Audio, 3) Subs and ep 10 is 1) Audio, 2) Subs, 3) Video.

Why the issue is affecting only a very small number of systems is beyond me, but you can fix it in three ways:
1) Download the script from the link below and load it separately
2) Demux and remux the mkv, putting the tracks in the right order
3) Figure out which part of the playback process is failing at fixing this simple flub. I'll take a shot in the dark and guess it is either Haali's Media Splitter or VSFilter. Make sure you have the latest versions of each.

Placing this script file in the same directory as the mkv should cause it to be autoloaded (at least in MPC it will).

Do you mean the torrent file... you need a BT Client to download the files. Hopefully you have CCCP installed... if not you need that too. You should be able to play the files that your BT client downloaded.
