I may or may not have mentioned this earlier but while I wait around for a translated script to magically show up, I've got free time spewing forth around me. As a result, here are some hasty h264 encodes of the two specials on StrikerS Vol 1 DVD:
SP1 - Interview with Nanoha, Subaru, and Tiana's VA's (giggly japanese girls)
SP2 - Memories of MGLN A's - Sort of a recap of A's in about 3 minutes done to the A's ED song - CONTAINS SPOILERS OF A'S (duh)
If someone is bored they could always post a script for the interview as it might possibly be interesting to understand what they're talking about :)

JJS, you bought the DVDs? Damn.. that's expen$ive. Hats off to you.
btw, I think Yukari is the one in the middle. Which one is the other two?
>>4
I, erm, "obtained" the DVD... somehow... Anyway yes, Yukari is in the middle with Subaru's VA on the left and Tiana on the right. ANN is down at the moment and I'm too lazy to look up their names.
>>5
And ANN is back. Chiwa Saito (Subaru) on the left, Mai Nakahara (Tiana) on the right.
Just found this image on another forum. Ain't she cute?
Seems like the sig from someone I knew...or more like, that's the original...
>>2
It's indeed a sig. I've posted the complete picture in the "Nanoha StrikerS Image Thread".

What's Griffith role exactly?
When Hayate is not in her armchair, does he take command, despite having a lesser rank than Nanoha or Vita?
Or does he just manage the staff in that room (Shari and co)?
>>1
It seems that Hayate's call sign is "Long Arch zero", while Shari's is "Long Arch one".
(StrikerS ep 11, 18:00)
>>27
Griffith is Hayate's Adjundant. Military assistant in other words. He helps with reports, organizing troops and will relay orders. He's low rank actually surprised me, but then again, we have second in command Reinforce Zwei who'd even lower ranking than Griffith.
>>29
So, in the event of Hayate being unavailable, who will take command? Nanoha, since she has the second highest rank?
well if they follow the military model (anyone actually in the military feel free to correct me)...
chain of command should go:
Commanding officer (CO)
executive officer (XO)
Department heads (I.e. maintainence(sp?), security, service etc. )
as far as I can tell Fate and Nanoha are department heads
Fate-> Investigation
Nanoha-> Training
Hayate is the CO but their XO is still in question.
>>31
Rein is supposidly the XO. Hence her being the Sub-commander
>Zafira [...] he's supposed to be Hayate's personal body guard
In episode 14 we are reminded that he is truly a guardian beast :-D
Well, at least there's a little progress: in A's 04, he had to fold the blanket himself...
The old WW2 ranks are, IIRC, used to refer to foreign military ranks and such.
For some reason known only to themselves, the Maritime Self Defense Force apparently stuck with the old-school ranks, (mayber because they had less loss of honor and the like compared to the army?). Thus, they still use Shouii, Chuii, Taii, Shousa, Chuusa, Taisa and the like.
Rein's equivalent position in a US/NATO unit would be that of Senior Non Comissioned Officer (SNCO) or Non Comissioned Officer In Charge (NCOIC) (nomeculture depending on where you are and which branch.)
In terms of being XO, I'm not quite sure that Rein is Hayate's XO; from what I observe and understand, she's fulfilling the Chief of Staff role, which means that she's the paperwork administrator who makes sure that Riot 6 runs smoothly so that Hayate can concentrate on the important stuff. However, as in most militaries, if the Sergeant Major tells an enlisted to do something, the Enlisted listens. The CO is God, and the Sergeant Major is his prophet.
Also, depending on which military you are, Sergeant Major and Warrant Officer are almost level in terms of rank and authority; for instance, a British Army Sergeant Major is really a Warrant Officer (but adressed as Sar Major because of tradition and the fact that Sergeant Major > all). In the US system, Warrant Officers are part of and outside the normal officer channels, since they're normally enlisted who've been specially promoted (typically as helo pilots, such as in the Vietnam war, which had a large number of Warrant officer helo pilots). The original term for warrant officer, however, came because 1) they had a warrant of service instead of a comissioning letter, 2) in the British Army, they were the guys who brought along the arrest warrants. (Like the Enforcers, I guess.)
Also, IIRC, isn't Vice a First Sergeant?
Also, maybe it's just me, but I always thought that Long Arch One referred to Riot 6 HQ, not just Shari... Shari just answers because she's the commo officer.
If it were Long Arch Actual, on the other hand, I could see it being used for Hayate. In the US Army, tagging on Actual at the end of a callsign means that Da Boss is present and listening in.
Eeermm...the way I understand it,
The TSAB is broken into the Naval Force (Central Force which governs the world; the owner of Arthra/Asura, which explains the JMSDF rank designation), while there is a Ground Force in Mid-Childa (which, respectively, uses JGSDF ranks). Regius belongs in the Ground Forces (which, interestingly, has SEELE-like superiors...)
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Y/N?
I mean, think aerial combat with fluid animation, lots of crazy maneuvers, and missiles, LOTS of missiles (or at least, the mahou equivalent of it...)
What do you guys think? It's already near-mecha the way it is, no kickass aerial combat would be a shame.
Watching how Nanoha and Fate wanting to become Vivio's temp. mothers so enthusiastically , it suddenly reminded me of something that I heard and read in the international news section recently about the declining fertility rate in Japan.
Is my Nanoha series suddenly becoming some sort of propaganda tool, aimed towards the younger generation in Japan, promoting the goodness and joyfulness of motherhood. In return, when they are of age, they would be more inclined to have child/children and build a family with their spouse?
Lesbian Propoganda. =P

I will really like to see Fate and Nanoha trying to make a child together..!
>>3
One trap to rule them all.
Mariel's reaction to Vivio being Nanoha and Fate's child
=one of those priceless moments in anime that Visa can't buy.
I rest my case.
In ep5, the new team have the call sign Star/Lightning 3 and 4. So who is Star 2 and Lightning 2?!?
Have some Nanoha☆Star
Thanks. Thread over. LOL
The full Nanoha☆StrikerStar OP storyboard
WTF!? it is exactly like the op for the anime Lucky Star.
lol whoever doing this is good
Why isn't this storyboard used for the new OP?!?
If you liked the first opening... you'll enjoy watching it once more. Sorry, no new opening.
Episode 16 was an introduction; ep 17 is the strong stuff. Harsh fights, a huge revelations, and a couple of flashbacks.
Insanely strong episode.
Episode 15: Subaru and Ginga undertake a physical by Marie, who's an engineer, not a doctor.
Episode 16: Jail, who has just made 12 artificial girls, is interested in Subaru, and the Numbers call her "type-0".
Episode 17: We learn that Subaru has a mechanical arm. So does Ginga (see attached pic, from 13:11). And the Numbers decide to abduct Ginga.
Late revelations are not something unusual in MGLN. Jail Scaglietti, the Numbers, Project F, Vivio, Subaru and her mother and sister, all that might be neatly connected.
Another point to ponder: in episode 11, Subaru describes artificial mages as "Children fabricated from high-quality genetic material, then receiving injections and cybernetic implants". Hey, it's airhead-Subaru, who didn't know about Lost Logia in episode 2, who explains that to Kyaro! Doesn't that feel weird? Where the hell did she learn about that?

Fabien, are you sure you're not a staff of MSLNS? You sure seem to know a lot.
>You sure seem to know a lot.
How so? I watched the 17 episodes released so far, that's all.
Of course, my sentence "all that might be neatly connected" is pure speculation, but indeed everything points to Jail's experiences about artificial mages.
Now all that's left to wonder is Jail's intentions about Vivio, about Ginga, and about the TSAB. And how Nanoha will save the day. Hey, the series isn't called "Lyrical Nanoha" for nothing!
Well, I'm hoping more of a grand accumulation of all the Aces (max power, limiter all release) and Strikers and launching a combined attack on the real demon in the show.
In Nanoha, we had seen that Fate was a victim of circumstances.
In As, we learnt that the real demon wasn't Reinforce I but the alterted Defense Programme that corrupted the entire Tomb
Then there is the thing with Nanoha's injuries that caused so much foreshadowing in the first few episodes.
The way the damage was described, the fact that she had to learn how to walk again...
Maybe there are some robo-parts in Nanoha as well, even if it's no full replacement-job?
>the fact that she had to learn how to walk again...Maybe there are some robo-parts in Nanoha
That's a hight possibilities, Since the Doctor spagat seem to look at her too.
Like some result of an experiment in some project.
It's now Magical Girl Bionic Nanoha
>the fact that she had to learn how to walk again... Maybe there are some robo-parts in Nanoha
Actually, seeing the quality of that technology, I think Nanoha would have had less trouble to learn to walk had she some mechanical parts.
MechaGodWINGSEEDZTurnA Godzilla did it for me
It hadn't happened for a while, so you might have missed it: "Academy Blues, side stories" has one more chapter.
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3510860/1/Academy_Blues_Side_Stories
yup.I missed it for one whole day. This side story is abit heavier than the usual, especially towards the end. Hope the next AB chapter comes out soon. >.<
Here we see that Hayate is, like Nanoha, scary when pissed, even without raising her voice.
I really liked that chapter. a little dark, but the concept was awesome.
YAY new opening, finally
-Gabe
Here's a thought... from what I saw on the 2nd OP, it basically says Fate < Subaru <= Nanoha...
The worst Nanoha's song out there.
I am sorry, but thats just how I feel.
what's so bad about the new OP?
>>6
Well, the music is shitty, but when you cut the sound off, it's pretty nice.
Eh... I happen to like the New OP...
yea i did't think it was that bad, it was kinda fun as well.
-Gabe
I cant get enough of the new OP thats for sure.
The new OP is on repeat in my PC, I love it!!
I always skip the opening so that does not make a big difference for me !
YAY new opening, finally
