Welcome to one of the most active Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha imageboards on the web dedicated to MGLN fanart and discussion!
Registration is not required to post new threads or reply to existing ones. See the rules below, the links following that, and feel free to post!

This is probably a bad idea which will result in the using up of my monthly transfer but.... what the hell, I can always change the URL if it gets too popular. DGz has a danbooru clone at:
with a small assortment of neat stuff including most of the images found on this board along with any random (usually 4chan related) material I collect. Feel free to browse and if you'd like you can even make an account and post stuff.
Guidelines for posting are pretty much the same as here:
Hotlinking images will fail (e.g. in an img tag), however you can make a link to the page containing the image if you like. The software that powers the site is under heavy development so some things don't work properly and sometimes the site may be completely inaccessible as I break something (on purpose or otherwise).
That's all I can think of at the moment, just use the existing posts as a guideline for allowed content and don't be a jerk.
Some tags of relevance to the particular crowd that would visit this site in the first place :)

That pic is DA BOMB! -- pardon the pun.
And a ton of AIR pics. Thanks! :)
No, it turns out that Nero's "awesome" AAC encoder is a piece of crap. Here's what happened for a few tests I ran:
I have no idea why this happened. It didn't matter whether I set the SBR/HE_AAC flag (I used AAC_LC btw) in mkvmerge or not, the MKV output ALWAYS reported 96khz. Unfortunately I didn't realize it until about a week ago when someone pointed it out in another post and now it's too late :/ If you're suffering stuttering or lag as a result you can set FFDShow (or hopefully your other favorite AAC decoder) to force a resample to 48khz. It's usually marked as "Force resample for >48khz" or something to that effect.
For A's I have switched to using FAAC to encode the audio and this has given me reliable 48khz output to match the DVD source. This confirms my suspicion that the problem lies with Nero Digital's CLI AAC encoder and not with mkvmerge. I also switched to using FAAC's "100%" quality setting rather than 128kbit ABR that I used in Nero. They both come out to almost the exact same filesize but finished episodes could vary in size by a meg or two.
tl;dr - Season 1 is screwed, I can't easily fix it with a patch but most people won't notice it if you have modern soundcard hardware (so far all of 2 (or maybe 3, hard to tell on an anonymous messageboard :) different people have complained that it caused problems). Season 2 will be properly encoded (I hope to get that rolling soon, I've pretty much finished my encoding test rounds).
bah, forgot an image with the reply
(excuses excuses...)
What do you think of Vorbis in comparison to AAC?
I spent a few hours doing AAC encoding and listening tests today (including ABX), and the results were disappointing.
Nero Digital Audio+ 1.0.0.2:
Vorbis (Xiph.Org libVorbis I 20050304):
These findings do not rule out the possibility for other, more efficient AAC encoders. However, they do suggest that Vorbis may be a better choice than AAC for efficient audio coding at high fidelity.
(The test music used was Pani Poni Dash - Roulette Roulette Ichijou-san Ver., a typical Jpop song with percussion and vocals. Sample rate was 44.1 kHz.)
If you need suggestions for Vorbis encoders I can HIGHLY reccommend the Lancer builds: http://homepage3.nifty.com/blacksword/
Choose one that fits your cpu type, oggdropXPd variant if you want "drag n drop" interface, oggenc variant if you want command line. They are highly optimised and will encode very fast, and the latest "20061110" builds are based on aotuv-b5 which I personally have no problems with and I highly recommend it.
Some default lowpass settings on aotuv-b5 builds in case you are interested:
Q1 15.8 khz
Q2 16.5 khz
Q3 17.2 khz
Q4 18.3 khz
Q5 20.1 khz
I usually go with default settings at Q4 if the source is delicate, but q2-q3 is also very good "bang for the buck" value if the source is crap anyway.
Not much else to write about, other than this I hope any of this can be useful.
I know it's late, but I just have to .. :p
I just took one of your files, demuxed audio, muxed back without SBR switch (mkvtoolnix 1.8.1) - and guess what, it worked flawlessly (CoreAAC 1.0b9, which is my favorite aac decoder but can't be set to force a certain sample rate). I don't know how you did it, but you obviously failed at muxing. Or rather mkvmerge did, whatever.

I'll bite :P
mkvtoolnix 1.7.0 which was the latest available when I did season 1 apparently had a bug that caused this whole sample rate fiasco. See this post on the CCCP forums:
http://www.cccp-project.net/smf/index.php?topic=994.msg6616#msg6616
Quote from: "mkvtoolnix 1.80 changelog"
And in this case "sometimes" == "every single time" for the set of conditions I muxed everything under.
If anyone needs the "A's to StrikerS" manga in translated form, I can host the 3 volumes on my webhost.
Also, concerning the DVD extras, if you can't find a translator, could you still release them unsubbed? I for one would love to watch them even if I can't get all the words down right.
And thanks for the great work with the releases. bows
Here's a pic for you guys. These girls own!
I love your work ..
please keep up the good work...
thank u so much for everything u done =)
I present you with the original scan of the Nanoha/Subaru...
Anyone have the skill to make a wallpaper from that last image?
I know someone who could...I can ask him to do it in both 1024x768 and 1280x1024...
Here is my pitiful attempt at creating a 1280x1024 version. Use or abuse as you see fit.
and the 1024x768 version.
Wow nice work
As promised in the last release post, here is episode 12. The final battle is about to begin! How many cliches can we possibly pack into a single episode? Watch and find out!
Picture unrelated, but hilarious nonetheless.
http://damagedgoodz.net/torrents/mglna12.torrent
Episode 13 will take a smidge longer since it needs more attention and a finer-toothed comb for catching my typos. Please be patient!
Thank you very much as allways.
Only 1 more. Thanks for all the hard work.
yea :D
Do it! DO IT, MY MASTER!
So here's the plan for the remaining 2 episodes...
Ep 12 is pretty standard so I'll try for Sunday on that one.
Ep 13 will need a little extra typeset work since (as mentioned in one of the posts where I begged for a DVD special translator (and never found one, by the way)) it lacks ending credits as well as a few signs that used to be there. Hopefully noone will mind if it takes until the following weekend for that one, I'm going into super-anal mode to avoid any possibility of a need for a v2.
Anyway, enjoy episode 11!

Thank you very much as allways.
thanks a lot for the episodes! keep it up!
I expect a release by Monday at the latest with Ep 11 not more than a few days later. The torrent will be posted in this thread but that isn't the real reason I posted tonight...
As some may have noticed, the tracker for the season 1 batch and A's eps 1 and 2 has been down since yesterday. If it hasn't come back up by the time of Ep 10's release, I'll be moving them to the new tracker. During that time I'll need to beg those of you who have the complete first season to help seed again to ensure a peaceful transition. I'll post here when/if that change takes effect, but the torrent link will not change to make things easier on everyone.
IF i can get a new torrent file. no problem.
i can seed eps 1-9 of A's and season 1 to all i need is a torrent.
All right the torrents have been recreated on the other tracker. Once again any help seeding will be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot!

Yeah I failed pretty hard at remaking those torrents. I forgot the multi-tracker info too which is probably not good.
They're all fixed and synchronized between this host and the tracker so if you were getting 0 seed/peer count, redownload the torrents from any of the links above and you should be good to go.
FINALLY!
The tracker changeover went well. As a reward, have episode 10! :P
YAAA only 3 more to go!
Yes, this is THAT episode. If you haven't seen the series before, you'll know what I'm talking about when you see it.
It's all hardcore from here on out. I'll try not to take forever between releases to keep the momemtum going.
Yaa release of eps = the win
Thank you very much for releasing the DVD version! I didn't watch the series (even S1 ex. eps . 1-2) back then for some reasons and probably wouldn't ever watch if you didn't re-release it ^_-
Meh... why wouldn't any R1 company license this wonderful show? sigh
Probably cause of the age of the characters and the gratuitous fan-service. Americans can be such prudes.
The gloves are off with this one (seriously, Lindy no longer wears her white gloves while talking to Fate in the first half of the ep). Sorry it took so long, a medical condition probably known as the "common cold" prevented me from wanting to accomplish anything this week.
In any case, on with the fun! Ep 9 (where the real awesome starts) is just around the corner. And by that I mean it'll be out in less than 2 weeks :)

Enjoy!

Yaa release, as allways thanks for the hard work.
Can somebody please rapidshare this episode? I have troubles using BT on my comp. right now.
Thanks again!
Here it is, last release of 2006!
http://damagedgoodz.net/torrents/mglna07.torrent
I mentioned it in another post but this episode is probably THE most redrawn of the whole season. I couldn't even make a list there are so many fixes. Basically, most of the characters have been redrawn (you can tell by the way their eyes are drawn) and best of all: NO MORE FISHEYE LENSE!
This website has a large portion of the changed scenes in comparison with what aired on TV. Note that there are FIVE pages of comparison shots with this episode alone. Every other DVD volume only has one page. Remember, the DVD version is on the left while TV is on the right there. The shots for Episode 7 start about a quarter of the way down the first page.

YAAa thakns so very much!
I managed to pick the wrong frame numbers for the eyecatch in the middle of the episode so I'll try and reencode it tonight and release a v2 tomorrow afternoon.
And things were going so smoothly too :/
Encoding turned out all right so let's try this one more time!
You can try resuming the file with the new torrent by renaming but I doubt it'll let you keep any of it.
thanks!
Happy Genic Non-Domatial Gift Giving Day to everyone!
thanks for all your hard work, the dvd versions rock!
i can't wait for the DVD version of A's ep 7! (my favorite of 2nd season) ^_^
Indeed ep 7 is chock-full of both plot and action. It's making its way through the horror of spellchecking now and pending a re-encode because I completely mis-timed the episode title sign there will probably be a torrent on Sunday at the latest. This episode has a ridiculous number of edits and scene redraws which leads me to believe they canned whatever crappy studio they had draw it for TV (or made them go back and fix it, either way it looks significantly different).
Anyway, more on that in a post when the episode is ready. Hope everyone got what they wanted for Christmas!
By the way, if anyone wants to start actual discussion or image threads feel free. The monthly transfer counter is far from the limit.
