Don't worry, it's legit, or else Right Stuf wouldn't list it. Saying the publisher is Geneon is correct, as Geneon is the company that did all the localization work on the series. Funimation is only putting the DVDs out on the market on Geneon's behalf.

Nanoha A's release date has been confirmed to be 1/13/09.

Also, according to TRSI, the release date for the first season has slipped to 12/9, yet thats the only site I can find with that date. All others still have it on it's 11/11 release date

I just noticed my credit card was charged today and my order status says this:
Ship Date: Nov 24 2008
Status: Processing

Compared to my A's pre-order which says:
Ship Date: Oct 31 2008
Status: Not Yet Shipped

I'm hoping Rightstuf charges when the order is shipped which means it'll be on its way...
Anyone else's order status change?

I got an e-mail with the shipping confirmation, so I guess it's on the way!

i'm still deciding where to get A's when it's released. should i stick with rightstuf or wait a bit longer with hopes of getting a discount like i did with nanoha 1st?

Rightstuf does that sometimes, you get charged and it shows up before the shipping notice, happened to me once and i got said dvd a month before street date.

well, that was the final push i needed to order it already. i didn't realize that the price was slashed with that sale so hooray for that. and i finally got the shipping notice yesterday for nanoha 1st and with USPS shipping it, i'll be expecting it next friday....feh, oh well.

i should be getting my copy friday or sunday if not no later than monday.

Mine just showed up today, here's a pic of the main box and all 3 volumes. The sleeves on each volume are reversible and have different art on the inside. Unfortunately I don't have a scanner so if there's interest maybe someone else can scan the sleeves?

oooo, reversible covers huh. that means that most likely that A's will receive the same treatment as well since its covers have some nice ones. they were the main reason why i was about to import the japanese verison before they announced the american release of A's.

Yes! My copy arrived today! No duty fees either! (I guess they don't charge for anything <$50)

There's a surprising amount of art work. On top of the reversable covers, there's also double sided inserts. While I do have a scanner, nothing I scan ever looks good, so I dunno if you guys would think it was worth it.

mine arrived too.....2 days ago. who would have that that USPS would do something so unexpected by delivering something by surprise.

anyways, i've only gone through the first episode so far. after the initial grinding of teeth trying to get used to English in anime (especially in my favorite one), i think Nanoha's voice is pretty good so far. obviously it's hard to live up to Tamura Yukari but i've heard worse. the only ones that i really feel miffed about though is Arisa and Yuno's voices. Arisa is too....uhh....grown up and not that great. Yuno's is just.....let's just leave it at that. i actually really dig Nanoha and Suzuka's voices though. i hope Fate is up to par with them.

Finished the first 2 DVDs. The dub is pretty good on all accounts. Took a bit for Yuuno to stop sounding like an older woman though.

Fate was saying Alf a first, but then they switched it to Arf.

I'm quite happy they went with Raging Heart, as it sounds much cooler.

Too bad the Device's name is 'Raising Heart' not 'Raging Heart'.
Raging Heart makes me cringe.

The fault comes in peoples understanding of how the Seiyuu's pronounce it.

Yes, I'm aware that Raising Heart is the proper name. You'll get no argument there. However, I think Raging Heart just sounds better.

It's like how Burning Gundam sounds a hell of a lot cooler than God Gundam.

I reserve my full judgment till I get the box-set (should be in a couple of weeks, just got my notice that my pre-order was shipped).

But I still think I'll cringe whenever I hear it :P

Actually, when I heard it the first time, like in the japanese, I couldn't tell which they went with. I had to turn on the subs to make sure. So you may not even notice.

i honestly couldn't tell if they said Raging Heart or Raising Heart with the english track at first also. i'm kind of surprised that they actually tried to say everyone's name with a japanese accent but even more surprised hearing Arisa literally yell "Urusai!"

Finished watching the set. The dub was quite good, especially since all the VAs were amatuers cum professionals. There are no problems with it, just some minor annoyances that you get used to by episode 3. Dub fans shall not be dissapointed.

Sub fans won't even bother and still complain about it, of course.

Everytime I watch season 1 I can't help but think of how Arf (Aruf now, I guess) is the most attractive girl on the show.

i perfer my voices in its native language, but i've got to say Nanoha's english cast is not bad...actually probably the best i've heard (and that's very little mind you). Fate's CV is THE first english voice that i nodded my head to while thinking "nice choice".

what's everyone's judgement of the redubbing of the devices like Raging Heart and Bardiche? Raging Heart is pretty good to pretty awesome but i'll go with my fanboy biasness and stick with Donna Burke.
