i thought they already did this before the release of the game and the movie? i rewatched it while it was aired and i thought the tags had them as 720p.

Well, apparently it's an upscale anyway, so the DVD release is still the best version out there.

No, you're wrong. These are the DVD versions, aired in 720p. The colors and lightning are better, and it has all the fixes of the DVD version.

If the image isn't sharper, with more details, 720p is a pure waste of space.
OTOH, if the video has been re-made in 720p from the original drawings, then it's worth it.

It's a matter of taste IMHO. I prefer the brighter colors from the DVD version, but YMMV.
