I think that armor looks pretty silly, actually... Doesn't belong in my Nanoha.

21 Name: Anonymous : 2011-01-04 02:30 ID:GtelOMtO [Del] [Report]

It's te first FORCE Next design that didn't dissapoint me or made me feel uneasy about it's composition(so far none of the AEC are interesting enough).

22 Name: Anonymous : 2011-01-04 02:43 ID:YYKz1RaV [Del] [Report]

What's interesting about that? It's over glorified armor with some weapon that resembles a butcher knife on one side and a halberd on the other. It's way too absurd looking for me.

23 Name: Anonymous : 2011-01-04 20:33 ID:GtelOMtO [Del] [Report]

Well it's the first oversized weapon of the season that managa to not look so out of place(seriously, i knwo everyone love Arnage's divider but i find it just ...weird, also the Fortress Mode is a bit exessive), Deville is a mountan of muscles so the Axe fits him well, the armor is jet-black colored, looks cool and menacing and also gives him a more visisble tranformation than his comrades(wich only get bigger swords/guns), yup it's very unusual to see something like this on Nanoha and that's why it look so interesting to me(after all FORCE so far is almost about deconstructing the franchise's stablished concepts). Also, hopefully Deville don't going to be another gloating bastard, he looks like the tough and silent type.

No, Subaru.

You find Fortress Mode more excessive...than Deville's armor. loooooolwat. Not sure if troll. I won't even start.

Personally I think all the only armor that doesn't look ridiculous is Tohma's but then again he looks like a ripoff of that guy from .hack, so yeah...

His weapon doesn't make any sense to me. It's thick almost everywhere except where it truly matters. The part connecting the blade with the handle...In which it's being connected by a small piece of metal that looks like it would snap under its own weight, let alone clashing it with another weapon. And the armor? What are the spikes for? "to look cool" that's all. You could argue they're there to bash into people with, but they're not all that pointed, and they're in an awkward place if that's their intended meaning. I mean, right below the shoulder blade is one of the toughest places to reach on the human body, and thats where he has them. And then there's the hair. Blue? And freakin long. What did he do, go super saiyan? Just too many things about it bother me, and it looks like something that belongs in some typical shounen. Albeit, at Forces rate, some generic shounen is where it's heading, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

They're highly logical in a world of magic, yes. And fit perfectly with other things like STB and rocket hammers. Deville's equipment looks ridiculous. Plain and simple. He doesn't even look 1% like his normal self, and I find that retarded. Among other reasons.

Precisely because it looks cool it's why i find it interesting, so far we know nothing about Deville's equipement(unless someone here can read japanese and tranlate the image to us xDU)so for the moment we can just count with the looks, it's almost on a similar scale as Zest(and Zest was freakin awesome, shame he died), i'll accept any critic after he shows his capabilities(he's getting a good opportunity since he got Fate as his opponent) but for now all it's only speculation, the AEC equips failed to make a big impact on their debut(altough the Fortress Mode more or less compensate for all of them) so, with Deville being a new villain and the divider/reactor combo being a game breaker weapon i can only expect to see Deville doing some awesome stuff. Yup, he's the most implusible looking guy for now and i like him for that, so far FORCE is started to look too real for my tastes. I liked Nanoha better where coolnes and heroic resolve was key elements into battle.

Confirmed, Deville is a true menace, able to appear inside Fortress area of protection right behind Nanoha, able to cope with Fate's lightning speed, able to take down Isis in one hit ...and the guy does all that withouth even REACTING!

When Deville finally put his armor on, he will become a big teleporting JUGGERNAUT.

Didn't look like he could cope with Fate's speed to me. Look at all those cuts.

36 Name: Anonymous : 2011-01-18 14:45 ID:Un188RHp [Del] [Report]

Little cuts that don't manage to represent an effective obstacle for him(Cypha was also unamused by the little cuts Fate give to her during the ship assault), when Deville reacts thing will get grim for Fate ...but as Reising Heart says, Nanoha's "student" is on the way so probably there will be a 2-on-1 battle against Deville wich will be awesome.

That is because of his ridiculous regenerative ability, not his ability to keep up with Fate's speed.

If he wasn't able to keep up with Fate she should be sliced him in half or a least disemembered him a little by this point. One can't deny Deville superb reflexes.

Has Fate ever sliced someone in half? That is completely out of character for her. Fate slammed two of the numbers into the ground with her zamber, and you don't them in pieces. He has blood all over him -- I'm sorry, but he did a piss poor job at blocking her attack. Those wounds would certainly have a negative impact on someone who wasn't capable of instant regeneration.

I didn't matter if Fate don't manage to win.

Signum also manage to deal high level injuries and that's meant something? ...the image of her bloodshed helpless body talks for itself. She's weaksauce now.

Is still soon to determine how this clash will end(fortunately i really doubt Fate will have the same pitiful end Signum has because she's an all beloved character unlike the Blazing General) but i can bet Deville will manage to pull out an "Oh Crap" face out of her once he reacts to say the least.

Well, Deville has a huge advantage, because unlike Fate, damage taken doesn't mean squat to him. But that doesn't mean Deville can compete with Fate in terms of speed.

Of course, super regeneration is a lame cliche which I wish never made its way into Nanoha.

So? It's still not in Fate's character. And I bet she never does so throughout the entire manga. Signum on the other hand, I never thought of her as having any problems with slicing and dicing an enemy.

Which is ironic because she's the one who ended sliced and diced xDU

the only good thing i can credit Cypha for is that she clearly stablish that they're not friendly enemies in the slightiest, they don't have noble intentions or feel guilty over their crimes, if you fight them they're gonna kill you(of course they didn't count with Signum barely surviving Cypha's finishing move). Also they're immune to befriending magic and to most physical damage, so if Section Six wants to have any hope to deal with these guys they need to use lethal force(or the closes to it as they can).

The good news are that is precisely because these guys can take almost everything and survive thankt to their ridiculously powerful healing factor that Hayate Team have the chance(and must) to fight them completely unrestrained in order to pummel the Huckbeing to the ground with full force withouth worrying of killing them. Being immortal can be acurse too if you face someone who can bring you into a world of pain.

Though I qustion whether or not they even feel pain, considering Cypha's lack of a reaction to having her arm chopped off.

Hmmm... good point, i can't state this for sure but i think that cypha's reaction has more to do with her being a masochistic psycho than being unable to feel pain.

Eh, last time we saw Nanoha get stomped was in the 'crippled' flashback and then Vita before that. It was bound to happen soner or later so that the real protagonist can save the day.

sigh Why bother having Nanoha and co. at all if they're only going to get worfed? Just stick with OCs and the same 'universe' to create a better story.

Not quite, translation of Ch 13's review confirms that Vita and Erio also got taken down trying to protect Hayate from Karen of Huckebein.

With this the Yagamy family is nearly taken down completely, there's only shamal, Zafira and(arguably) Rein Zewi left xDU.

She has shitty defenses though.

...But you have a point.

It seems Hayate is the only one that hasn't received any upgrades. You'd think they would have made a version of Fortress for Hayate. When I think about it, Fortress probably would have served Hayate better than Nanoha...

You have a good point there.

Nanoha is more like a fighter jet while Hayate is more of a bombarder or a killsat xD

reinforce hayate had the spells to shrug off everything nanoha had, including a point blank divine buster after her tank shield was down.

stands to reason that the book of the night sky does have what hayate needs to be untouchable, but rein still hasnt gotten a grasp on all of it yet.

65 Name: Anonymous : 2011-02-04 11:02 ID:SzTP3Njh [Del] [Report]

StrikerS Manga adderessed this during the 'Who is strongest' arc. Hayate admits to the Forwards that in a fight, she's actually very weak because she doesn't have anything for use in proper combat as she's more a Command and Control person whose offensive skills tend more towards extreme-long range.

In effect, Hayate throws around nuclear weapons, and gets into a knife fight.

66 Name: Anonymous : 2011-02-04 16:16 ID:VtsLr46l [Del] [Report]

>extreme-long range

By the way, it is strange. Reinforce in near fight was very strong.

67 Name: Anonymous : 2011-02-04 20:36 ID:S8AmNL4O [Del] [Report]

>>66
Reinforce or Reinforce Zwei? I refer you back to StrikerS itself where Hayate laments that without Zwei, she need help from her support staff just to aim properly, and her lack of offensive spells against the Cradle.

68 Name: Anonymous : 2011-02-04 23:31 ID:9Smz7z7M [Del] [Report]

>>66
reinforce is pretty much hayates maximum potential, fully leveled out she'd probably easily beat the tar out of anyone in universe, so they nerfed her with zwei and her own inexperience.

hayate has everything she needs to be unstoppable, but rein doesnt have the know how and experience to actually use it. hayate herself can barely fight since shes never had any reason to learn.
