here's how to fix nanoha
i know this will never happen
more GOOD male characters (i get the feeling the male chars are deliberately kept shitty to appeal to the /u/ crowd)
hell, just can the /u/ shit entirely, it's been an anchor on this series from day one, search your hearts you know it to be true. if you have to get one or all of nanoha/fate/hayate a romantic interest, just definitively kill the yuri shit for all time.
fuck the moe magical girl elements and play up the war/military elements more
better fight scenes (more scenes like the Fate/Signum fight in As, and less of the bind shit that has fucking ruined the action in this series from DAY 1)
a coherent plot always helps
sideline subaru, teana, and well, most of everyone who got introduced in strikers
make the bureau at least
delve into the whole alhazard shit, as well as the belka shit, which was dropped after S1 and barely even delved into in S3 (don't bring up soundstages please, and those aren't really adequate anyway)
to fit all this in you'd need like 26 eps of As-like pacing, which is absolutely perfect.
you can thank me later.

I'm also a writer, but not all my fanfiction is romance. I might write mostly comedy now, but that doesn't make me or my readers any less fans of yuri. Nanofate still appears to have the biggest yuri fandom at the moment for what we can see on the Internet, in Orient and Occident.
And by the way, Nanoha is not shonen.
It's seinen, which is basically shonen for adults xD
>>24
Yeah good point.
I know many comedy writers who are nanofate oriented :)
Still nanofate fandom is not majority in Japan.
these are groups existing for years in Japan, and non of them are majority... which makes nanoha fandam rich.
>>24, 25
I don't consider nanoha as seinen.
I'm Japanese, so there might be a definition difference between us (just like how we define hentai).
Magics and those costumes(BJ) are widely seen in shonen, not in seinen (with firewepons and normal cloths) according to our definition.
Oh, and it's just my opinion that nanoha is Shonen.
Some japanese think this is shonen, and some don't.
IMO, important thing is not to categorize anime, but to enjoy them as they are.
>>26
For your information seinen is a demographic, not a genre. Nanoha's primary demographic is adult males, ESPECIALLY in Japan. Outside Japan, we have a sizable minority of young female fans watching this mostly for the yuri, but the demographic doesn't change.
After NanoFate became canon we barely get any fanart/ss/doujinshi from Japan involving alternate couples for Nanoha and Fate (aside for the typical hardcore/rape doujinshi that will always have a market regardless of the characters).
>>26
Apart from that artist in Pixiv that draws pretty good Chrono/Nanoha fanarts regularly, I don't see any fans in Japan showing support for straight alternatives for the yuri relationships in the series. Back during the first season I remember more support when the yuri direction of the show wasn't clear, but now we're limited to a few Chrono fanarts, and the latest Yuuno images I have memories of are of him being inflated or gore'd. I can't complaining though, I don't follow Nanoha for the guys.
>foreigners tell Japanese person they know more about Japan than Japanese do
GOD, what is wrong with this fandom? Wait, I think I just answered my own question.
thx for lots of replies :)
if shonen is not a genre, then that's how u guys define them.
yes, most nanoha fans are adult males, but it doesn't matter so much to some (not all) of us.
here are examples of nanoha reviews in which nanoha is considered to have shonen side.
i guess u can google-translate them.
http://badtastesandwiches.blog107.fc2.com/blog-entry-919.html
http://plaza.rakuten.co.jp/akibaotaku/diary/200903260000/
and look at the image on the top of this page. another example ; )
as i've said, many of the stuffs "translated on the internet" are nanofate.
i don't deny it.
however, if u come to japan, go to nanoha fan exhibitions and see how ppl are selling nanoha fan fictions, you'll see a totally different scene.
>>32
haha... sometimes u guys know japan better than japanese.
however, regarding this matter, i'm simply stating facts.
>>36
I really doubt there is less Nanofate support in events than what we see online from Japanese sites like you claim, I remember seeing a good number of doujins for the next Nanoha party. We also have the official manga.
I don't take the shipping in the official manga all seriously, Tsuzuki is a really random guy when it comes to shipping(remembers Lucino and Griffit being married aout of nowhere), the main focuis of the story are the conflicts and battles the characters face, not their romantic relationships and Tsuzuki just keep throwing bones at the audience by letting popular couples have a "scene" from time to time, after all the hate on Yuunoha Tsuzuki aparently received the message and thus Yuuno was put on a bus and most of the teasing is between Nanoha and Fate, Nanoha and Vita, Subaru and Tea, etc... But none of those cuouples are officially confirmed by canon, Tsuzuki still refuses to do that and so far, the only official couples we get are heterosexual ones like Chrno and Amy, and Lucino and Griffit. ErioxCaro and TohmaxLily are closer to be canon pairings than the supposedly lesbian couples.
>>38
In case that you're not trolling: Nanoha and Fate are canon, see the thread, or listen to the sound stages/read the manga.
Subaru and Teana are not a confirmed couple, their relationship is only implied.
Erio and Caro have moved to a sibling-like relationship over the time. Again you need to read the manga for this.
There is no "Yuunoha" pairing, that's an animesuki word, the pairing was named nanoyu or yunano in Japan.
And nobody cares about Tohma, in Force our canon lesbians are still canon lesbians.
>>36
Shonen and seinen are demographics, target audiences, not genres. You can make and anime about football, because there is a sports genre, but you can't make an anime about "seinen".
Claiming that shonen is a genre, is like saying that music aimed to teenagers belong to a different genre.
>>38
Did you miss the nanofate-haters forum by 1tab? If you have something against homosexuality and gay families in media, Nanoha is not your anime.
I don't have anything against NanoFate or lesbian pairings in Nanoha(i'm a Fatenum fan myself), i'm only saying the truth. Even if Nanoha and Fate have a dynamic similar to a lesbian couple, nothing canonly official has ever mentioned, they're aren't mentioned to be married to each other nor in a romantic relationship(the previous posted image is part of the "Force Dimension" shorts that are comical omakes parodying events on the Force manga, so that's probably just Tsuzuki throwing another bone to the shippers).
The closer we have for a confirmation is the "Takamachi Family" thing but even that isn't a canon statement of Nanoha and Fate relationship, just a really close implication. The moment some official source mentions explicity that they're a couple then it will be canon, but until that day all is only speculations and implications.
I've readed lot's of supplemental material and the best i got is the statement that says Nanoha and Fate are really close to each other but you can be really close to someone in lots of ways.
>>38
>>42
Stop the obvious trolling please, the only speculation (without any "implications") are your wild theories of unorthodox couples and families not being in romance.
Shipping and trolling is not allowed in this board, so I'm reporting you. You sound like the typical Animesuki user in denial that goes out of their way to make people hate an anime they like. Seriously, we're bored of you guys, you can keep claiming that you know more than Japan and that the writers are wrong, but you're not convincing anyone.
People responded to a post explaining their viewpoints and i responded accordingly, i didn't insult anyone and even gave explanation about my train of tought. If someone here have proof(that is, especificall mention of the sound stage, manga chapter or anime episode where such things are confirmed) i openly invite them to expose it. This is very easy to solve, just give me canon evidence and my argument will be instantly invalidated.
I'm not denying the possibility of Nanoha and Fate being a couple, what i mentioning is the lack of any canon confirmation of that. They act like a couple sometimes but i'm still waiting for the moment when some official source explicity says "yes, they're a couple".

>>44
There is a manga called Vivid, which is canon. The Movie 1st Sound Stages and Nanoha A la Carte manga are canon too. The complementary material and Magazine interviews are also official information.
I know some people like to pretend only Force is canon, but even in that manga they follow the same continuity where Nanoha and Fate remain a couple and formed a lesbian family with their daughter. Force is not the "only official fourth season and everything else is not canon", the movie 1st manga (not the sound stage) is the only exception, this manga takes place in an alernative continuity.
I don't even know why I bother...
>>45
I don't think he's serious... is he? The fun thing is that even if he thinks only Strikers and Force are canon, this guy still will have an awfully hard time making sense of the characters if they weren't in a romantic relationship. I mean, I can't think of any real life or fictional scenario where two lesbians sleep together, adopt a girl, and are not in a relationship. For humans this is simply not possible.
Also stuffs like pic related got published when Strikers was airing, and then we have the Dvd extras. This is beyond absurd, really.
Nanoha "A la Carte" is not canon, they're not made by Tsuzuki, it's a special compillation of manga shorts made by other artists, i'm not denying they're pretty good and fun stories, tough(Vivio's cooking is the funniest in my opinion xD).
ViVid gives strong hints indeed but still lacks any official confirmation. Even the Movie 1st manga gives a somewhat silly twist to what seems to be a good definitive resolution("we're attracted to each other ....to be friends"), i fail to see why Tsuzuki do that at the end of an otherwise irrefutable confirmation xD.
Look, i'm not againt the pairing, i'm also aware that is glaringly obvious that Nanoha and Fate hold strong feelings for each other, i'm aware that the Seiyuus of Nanoha and Fate are convinced they're in a relationship but i still waiting for Tsuzuki, you know, the guy who writes the story, to canonly admit that. It's not that hard, if he already married characters it will be pretty easy to say something among the lines of "Nanoha and Fate are in love" or "they support each other because they're a firm couple", all the material you mentioned contain strong hints but for some reason avoids telling to the audinece that "yes, they are".
StrikerS images are mostly fanservice stuff depicting situations that most likely didn't happened in canon(Nanoha and Fate as brides, Playing Tennis, Signum standing in a group image with Laevatein in Bogenform which she never used during StrikerS, etc). I've readed the StrikerS DVD booklets and didn't find anything of the sort but maybe i'm confusing those with the DVD extras. I will check those in hopes of find that, thanks.
>>48
Not the same anon, but Nanoha "A La Carte" is canon, the Vivid specials are in the same book. It was published by Kadokawa and Seven Arcs, hence it's canon.
In Vivid they are still a lesbian couple raising Vivio together. That's not hinted, it's part of the plot.
>i'm aware that the Seiyuus of Nanoha and Fate are convinced they're in a relationship but i still waiting for Tsuzuki
I'm aware that all the staff involved in aware of their relationship status, as well as the fans. I can't believe a single occidental fan can be as confused as you.
>to canonly admit that
Everything from Strikers that takes part of the plot is canon, so it's only you who needs to admit that.
>if he already married characters
Like Nanoha and Fate, that's the reason she forms part of the Takamachi family and is a parent to Vivio.
>all the material you mentioned contain strong hints
Plot != hints. It forms part of the story, especially in the movie sound stage, Vivid, and A la Carte.
>StrikerS images are mostly fanservice
Fanservice is still canon. You can pretend that two lesbians sleeping together is just fanservice, but this fact is still a part of the series.
>>49
Too late for that. This 2A8tV13E really makes me hate Nanoha fans.
Jesus Christ you guys stop the report fest. I'm going to deal with this thread in a few hours.
Why did my post got deleted and >>48 is still up?
The guys from Animesuki are trolling our board again, no surprises here.
>>55
Maybe the troll reported the legit posts, they have fallen lower than this.
Either way, thanks God this is over.
Forget it, it's not worth trying to argue with them, they're too emotionally invested in this couple to have a thoughtful conversation. Anything you say will be greeted with the same canned insults, blind dismissals and accusations of trolling they've been lobbing for the past two and a half years.
His post wasn't deleted because it wasn't trolling. You're the real trolls. Everyone on this board got along fine until you decided to purge this board of everyone who didn't ship nanofate.
Yup, that's why i didn't give any response but wathever, i don't care that much about pairings anyway.
Back on topic, how you will make FORCE better?
I will start by making Cypha living up to her hype and do something actually significant aside of trashing Signum. Such amazing "dastardly villain" potential wasted.
I actually do NOT deny the existence of NanoFate, I just think that it's existence has played a major role in dragging down the series.
Nanoha should be driven by dramatic battles and compelling character conflict, not yuri and moeblobs.
I mean, honestly, how the fuck is it trolling to want MORE of Nanoha As and less of the garbage they're feeding us these days (vivid is garbage, let's face it, it's fanfic-tier stuff force is much better because it's actually trying to have a story, however bad it is as it)
I deleted some spam posts, some image macros, and some outright faggotry. I'm hoping the rest of you fags can all get off your high horses and accept that people don't agree with your shit and start getting along. I'm trying really hard not to take sides because I hate both of your fucking retarded camps and realistically the only way to stop this shit is to autoban any posts containing the word "canon" and the mention of any two characters in the same sentence. STOP BEING BABIES, THAT IS ALL.
GROW UP FOR THE LOVE OF YOUR VARIOUS DEITIES
>>55
Animesuki, while full of goddamn retards in the general sense, are not necessarily our enemies. This isn't an exclusive club for a select group of believers in some retarded internet drama. Some non-retards exist there (I actually don't know any but they must exist, right?).
I remind everyone that this same shit happened already and you got the fuck over it so I suggest that you again get the fuck over it and move on.
Another thing that needs to happen is that they need to figure out a way to make the powersets relevant. If that means porting Neue Regrisseur and Neo Granzon from SRW to Nanoha, do it. Hayate is a ridiculously powerful mage yet she mostly sits on the sidelines. This is why I didn't like the forwards - you have to nerf the threats just to keep the AA rank and below mages semi-relevant, because the S+ ranks and above are literally to them what a 2012 Abrams tank is to a Roman chariot.
>>MORE of Nanoha As and less of the garbage they're feeding us these days
Only reason why I'm still in this fanbase is the upcoming PSP game. Honestly I didn't even like Hayate until the first game came out.
and the SRW reference that keeps on popping up. I have not watch nor play many media for it. I just don't like how it seems like the story is just pulling off reference from a genre I rarely have anything to do with.
I think is not that bad as long as they're just references but lately Tsuzuki apparently is making just copy/paste of various elements and storylines from SRW.
Case in point: Signum is progressively becoming less of an expy of Lamia and more of a flat-out clone of her.
>>64
There is a new SRT game in the works BTW, but with anime characters directly in combat instead of robots. I forgot its title, but it looked good.
It was sort of like this old flash: http://www.gametrailers.com/user-movie/battle-fantasia-w/301765
If Nanoha and Fate were in the game, they'd be canon lesbians there too I bet.
Honestly, i don't care. As long as we get Nanoha and Fate as playable characters in an awesome Endless Frotnier-like SRT game they can be as lesbians as they want.
...they still will be kickass characters xD!
ilVg6x+d at different cpu
>>65
Sounds like I should be watching/reading SRW instead of continue following this series if they're copying and pasting.
already knew about that. it's still in the works? I thought it's just fan video only since I hear nothing else about it for years.
btw there is a crossover game coming out called Nendoroid Generation on the PSP. I'm not sure if I should care about this one.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3o2gorYranc
Actually Subaru and Teana would fit incredibly well in one of those games, both Endless Frontier games portray Gunfighter/Brawler duets among the main cast like Haken/Aschen and Alady/Neige. Teana/Subaru are almost the quintesinal example of the franchise(as Nanoha/Fate have more similar skills), plus, they also fit the Haken/Aschen trait of SkilledGunner/RobotGirl.
>>64
They ARE taking the espy thing a bit far, but it was an element of Signum that I've always liked (even though personality-wise the comparison has ALWAYS been overstated just because they have the same VA).
But there's a part of me that wants to see more SRW references, not less. At the very least, some mage version of Shuu Shirakawa or Vindel Mauser (granted, they DID have one for a pseudo-Mauser role, they just killed her off in the first season...this franchise would be imo way better had they kept Precia alive somehow, especially considering how anti-climatic and badly executed her death was)would be the most credible threat this series has ever had, at least since As.
Also throwing in some Jam Project songs can only help your soundtrack :D.
