Since I didn't see this thread, I felt inclined to share it. Nanoha.com is threatening to release a "reboot" of A's similar to the first season in Nanoha: the Movie First.

And the so-called "fans" who bitch about people who like OTHER parts of the franchise has caused me to come to a SERIOUS dislike of parts of the fandom. Especially that image. Ugh. That's what? Image 6000 of Fate and Vivio in a "suggestive" pose?

I mean, hell, there was that image not too long ago of Nanoha, Fate, Einhart and Vivio, nothing to see there, but seeing Nove in the image instantly made it worth saving, simply because it wasn't the same old TRIPE! Ugh. (I'd like the image more if it was just Nove there.)

I'd probably like the "popular" stuff more if it wasn't shoved in our faces all the freaking time!

And, just so you know, I am a fan of the series, I wouldn't bother enjoying the television series, reading the sound stage transcripts and the mangas as much as I would have otherwise... (Course, certain OTHER "fans" who bitch about anything that's NOT "popular" has killed a LOT of enthusiasm, especially a certain Signum "fan" who's posting in this thread. (Hello, Akiyoshi, I still see you're bitching about Signum.) Thanks to him and some others, I've lost enjoyment in ViVid and Force)

Really, what's wrong with liking OTHER characters? What's wrong with wanting the OTHER characters to have posters and images on the web? There's such a GLUT of Nanoha with Vivio or Fate that it's, quite frankly, BORING.

Nothing's wrong with liking other characters, but if you don't want to see the boring/cliche stuff then go venture to other fields. You know, like 2chan where they have lots of people who have the same opinion as you. Bet you've never been there.

If you keep sticking to the same place, it's 98% probability that you'll see the more popular stuff like Nanoha, Vivio and Fate. They're what brings fans and money to the series after all, and the more people love them the more there will be images/merchandise related to them.

Anyway, on topic to this thread, according to Mizuki Nana's blog from a couple of days ago (forgot the exact date but I think it's 2/3 days ago) voice recording for Nanoha the Movie 2nd has ended. The voice recording for the main cast effectively started on March 10th.

I never knew recording only takes two weeks! Amazing work! Can't see how the movie will be.

Just because something is different and new, that doesn't make something better. The numbers, for instance, bored me half to death. They pretty much failed as antagonists, in my opinion. On the other hand, Fate played the role of a tragic badass, and was a well developed stoic woobie with a memorable heel turn to boot. Way more to my liking as a character. Naturally, I'm going to want more of her and less of other characters I could care less about. There are obviously other characters I like in the franchise(Nanoha, Hayate, and to a lesser extent Vita and Signum), but most of the new StrikerS characters had little appeal. So why should I want more of them? You're free to prefer whichever characters you want, but you cant expect the other fans to have the same opinion as you.

You're basically complaining that you want fans of the popular characters to stop being fans and start enjoying the newer characters...even if they don't like them half as much. Isn't that a BIT selfish? If the franchise isn't working in your favor, you are free to move on. I can not stand Nanoha Force, yet I rarely ever mention the fact. I just ignore it, and move on.

Apparently, number 65 has difficulties to move on. He's been complaining about this for at least 2 years.

This is pretty amazing. It almost sounds like you're admitting the series has become shovelware.

The fact of the matter is that the only magazines that publish art of this series any more are Megami and Nyantype, and both of those cater to moe moe fanboys who want fanservice and girls holding hands. Both the Vivid and Force mangaka are career eromanga and eroge illustrators. That's all you have to know to be aware that the series has moved into fanboy exploitation territory. No doubt that's making them a lot of money, but the series is getting stagnant because of that.

<- I like gratuitous nudity as much as the next red-blooded male, but there are those of us who yearn for the time this series wasn't home economics and girls bathing.

It sounds like what >>65 is saying is that he was hoping for the movies and new mangas to pump some excitement back into the series, but the way they went about it wasn't what he hoped for--the only alterations from the TV series for the movie were made to maximize Fate's exposure and she's already everywhere anyway. I'm kind of getting sick of her myself--she's pretty much a Mary Sue now, she's not allowed to lose fights or her fanboys would flip a shit so Signum has to get beat up in her place.

As far as characters go, I think his point was, don't introduce 40 new characters and then ignore them. Otherwise, it becomes Gundam SEED Destiny again, and we all know how that turned out.

Stating your opinions are fine, but do it in moderation. Don't bash the series in entirety just because you hate something about it.

Well, while I like the movies, they are not really anything new. And it is not like they could not do a few seasons of Nanoha (chronologically) between A's and Strikers. That would be nice. And a finale series would be nice too. Oh, and I found this on Nanoha.com.

also a minor note (but a big deal to me) Hiroaki Sano isn't the music composer to The Movie 2nd. yeah, i was in a bitch fit when i was reading through the staffing. how the hell can i enjoy my transformation scenes & Fate/Signum battle without the original comopser?? a crying shame i must say. it won't be the same for me....

interesting, i sent a message to Hiroaki Sano through a blog after the revelation of him not being the in the staff....and he actually replied back. i asked him why he wasn't doing the music in the 2nd Movie A's to which he responded along the lines of he didn't have what it took to create the BGM so they used someone else instead. he did say Nanoha is an irreplaceable series to him so i don't think he stopped doing it out of hate.

to think he actually replied back is almost near the same level of amazement and joy as getting an autograph from Mizuki Nana.

Indeed. It shows that they actually care for the fans' opinion enough to respond to them. And props for Hiroaki Sano for a good job on the series. Let's hope that this new person who's doing the BGM will do a good job so that Sano won't regret this decision.

i have been praying as hard as i could ever since last year for Nana to come to AX this year. who else better then her since she's a singer/seiyuu? we could only dream....

So my message to Sano summed up was this (in simple japanese):

"Nice to meet you, I am an American fan of your BGM work especially in the Nanoha series. If my Japanese is hard to understand, i apologize. My question is why did you not do the BGM for the Movie 2nd A's? It will not have the Nanoha feeling without your BGM. It's unfortunate. I look forward to your next work."

Lindy is not going to Curbstomp Signum...For one, if it were possible, the issue would be resolved rather quickly and Nano/Fate wouldn't need their upgraded devices. At best, she might fight on even terms with her, if they even do fight. It might just be them rearing to fight and then the wolkenritter have to leave, like they do in A's...This way would just be a bit different.

at first i thought Lindy holding Durandal was one of the Liese sisters disguised, but it wouldn't make sense since Hayate doesn't know who Lindy is and will not go berserk. then again, they may have tweaked the story to make it make sense. seeing how Durandal was shown, i assumed it was near the end of the story.

I predict Shamal just because she is the most underused character in the whole Nanoha series. probably give her some screen time, and she'd be a good filler character for the twins without twisting the original plot too much.
